Using stainless steel fasteners, oak framing, and Honduras mahogany planking, Fish boats require far less maintenance than the classic craft of yesteryear.

Clarion Boats has been building new wooden boats for more than two decades. They are fully experienced in both traditional boat building methods and in the use of modern techniques and materials. They are experts in the utilization of the celebrated "West System", a technique developed and proven by the Gougeon Brothers of Bay City, MI. It is a marriage of traditional materials with modern epoxy resins and composites to produce a hull that has the engineering advantages and aesthetic beauty of wood yet eliminating the problems commonly associated with wooden boats - dimensional instability and rot. Using modern methods of construction they are able to achieve a light, extremely strong and stiff hull with the structural integrity of a molded monocoque structure yet having the appearance of a traditionally planked wooden boat.

Some things just get better with Age!!!
New remanufactured boats are crafted by hand just like their predecessors of the 1950's. Following the original design, the same screws, glues, jigs, machinery, and equipment to include band saws, planers, and polishers are used. Additionally, boats incorporate Z-Spar Varnish, and have Coast Guard regulated flotation, steering, and lighting.
