boat engine repair MECHANICAL WORK

Our mechanical service department has many years of marine mechanical and electrical experience. Services offered: From tune-ups to complete engine rebuilding or replacement, electrical/mechanical problem diagnosis, up-to-date wiring to U.S.C.G. specifications, 6 to 12 volt conversions, electronic ignition, transmission adjustment and repair, shaft alignment, strut bearing replacement, propeller repair or replacement, cooling system testing, and winterization.

5200 BOTTOMS

Not all 3M 5200 bottom jobs are the same. We take apart bottom frames, keel, chine, gripe, and check for dry rot. Then all parts are cleaned, and sealed with Smith's CPES. They are then reinstalled bedded in 3M 5200 with new fasteners. New marine plywood BS1088 certified is used for the inner liner which is sealed with CPES and bedded with 3M 5200 and properly fastened with new fasteners. The outer planking (mahogany) is sealed with CPES, bedded with 3M 5200 and properly fastened with new fasteners. The planks are then sealed, primed, and painted.

PLANK REPLACEMENT

Our restoration staff can handle any type of plank replacement needed on your boat. After replacing exterior planking, special care is taken to make sure that the proper stain matching techniques are used to keep your boat's color original.

SOAK AND TEST TANK

We use this custom built tank to soak. It is also used to test for leaks through the shaft log, rudder post, water intake, and other parts of the bottom of the boats.

CUSTOM INTERIORS AND COVERS

Antique Boat Center offers our customers custom made waterline covers and interiors for your boat. Give us a call for pricing.

CUSTOM BOAT NAMES & REGISTRATION NUMBERS

We offer custom boat names and registration numbers. We have actual gold leaf lettering and computer generated vinyl lettering for your boat. Tell us what you want and we can send you proofs of what it will look like before it goes on your boat!

PERMANENT RECORD OF RESTORATION

All restoration work is photographed and sent to you in the form of an e-mail once per month. At the end of the job, we burn a CD of these photographs, so that you have a visual permanent record of the work that was done. This should be very helpful when you sell your boat providing evidence to the buyer of how the work was actually done.
